There's a theory on the WMG tab on TvTropes stating that the Returns duology is a prequel to the SNES trilogy. The reasons cited being: -Tropical Freeze is the origin of Gorilla Glacier, (which was absent in the Returns) -Cranky Kong is apparently still young enough to join DK on the adventure and isn't AS cranky/ irritable as Country -DK didn't know how to swim in Returns, he finally learns in Tropical Freeze, and he of course is still able to do so in Country -DK, Diddy, and Dixie all look younger

I remember once I was at a pool a few years back (I think maybe two years almost after getting this game) and due to me not knowing how to swim I started somewhat drowning but not really I had managed to pull myself back to the surface due to this being one of those built into the ground pools. But while that was happening this music played in my head for some reason XD
